Using your POS for customer retention

If you own a business in Galway or anywhere in Ireland, finding ways to retain customers is vital in helping your business thrive and grow. After all, your business is your livelihood. It's the thing that keeps you going, pays the bills and allows you to live comfortably. That's why it's so important for you to do everything in your power as a business owner to protect it from potential problems and threats. One way of doing this is by using your POS for customer retention.

Identify your best customers.

Once you know who your best customers are, it's time to start thinking about how you can keep them. There are a few different strategies for doing this.

Use your POS to identify the most profitable customers. These are the individuals who spend the most money with your business on a regular basis and have the highest lifetime value (LTV). If they're spending well every time they visit you, then they're probably worth keeping around! You may also want to consider offering discounts or freebies in exchange for their loyalty - this is called "loyalty marketing."

Use your POS to identify the most loyal customers. These customers buy from you over and over again without any sort of promotion or incentive from either party involved in making this happen; they just like what they experience when dealing with your business! This means that if someone comes back after purchasing something once already, then there's likely no reason why they wouldn't come back again tomorrow...or next week...or next year...or even ten years from now!

Connect with them on a personal level.

In order to build relationships with your customers, you must first know who they are. Your POS can help with this. The more information you have about a customer, the easier it will be for you to connect with them on a personal level.

You can use your POS system to gather information about:

  • The items that customers purchase most often (or least often).
  • How much money they spend per visit.
  • When they visit most often--for example, Mondays through Fridays between 9am-5pm or Saturdays from 10am until 4pm?

Give them special offers, or rewards

Use your POS system to give them special offers, or rewards based on purchase history, using your POS system. Give them discounts on certain products.

Reward them for purchasing a certain amount of products or visiting a number of times. For example: "Spend x amount and get 20% off your next purchase." This will encourage customers to make more frequent purchases while also reducing the price at which they buy individual items (since they're getting 20% off).

Track sales and avoid running out of stock

Your POS can help you track product sales by time and location (how often do you run out of a product in one area of your business?), which gives you the data you need to make better stocking decisions. It can also help you manage inventory efficiently so that you don't end up selling more items than they have on hand - this will help prevent unhappy customers who leave because they can't find what they want when they want it!

In the end, it's all about keeping your customers happy. If they're happy with their experience at your store or restaurant, then they'll come back again and again - and that means more sales for you.
